Mary Charlotte (Stayton) McGriff

Mary Charlotte (Stayton) McGriff, 92 of Plymouth, Indiana passed away on July 1, 2021 at 9:23 p.m. at We Belong Senior Care, Plymouth, Indiana where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. On October 31, 1928 in Argos, Indiana she was born to David A. Stayton and Goldie G. (Personette) Stayton. Mary lived all of her life in Argos community.

On October 21, 1951 in Argos, Indiana she married Robert S. McGriff. With each other they shared 44 years before he passed on January 12, 1996.

Mary was a Housewife/Homemaker and a Foster Parent.

She is a member of the Santa Anna Church, Argos, Indiana and past member of the UM Women’s – Ladies Aid. Mary was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1946. She was Trained for 2 years as a Medical Technologist at Elkhart Business College.

Mary is survived by her Daughters – Barbara D. Peden and husband Monty of Rochester, Indiana; and Nancy G. McFarland and husband Rex of Argos, Indiana

Step-Daughter – Cheryl Eberhard and husband Ralph of Lake Wales, Florida

5 Grandchildren    3 Step Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren    8 Step Great Grandchildren

Several Foster Children that grew up on the farm in Argos.

She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Son – Jim McGriff; Brothers – Lowell Stayton and Vernon Stayton; Sister – Virginia Wallace

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday July 6, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Santa Anna Church, 20269 Nutmeg Rd., Argos, Indiana.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation on Tuesday July 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. Tim Lee. Burial will follow at the Jordan Baptist Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
