William "Bill" Schauer Obituary

William "Bill" Theodore Schauer, 90 of Cedar Park, Texas passed away on April 22, 2019 at 11:12 p.m. at his residence  where he had been in declining health for the past 8 months. On August 27, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois he was born to William Frank Schauer and Anna M. (Otradovic) Schauer.  Bill grew up in Argos, Indiana.  He had spent the last 4 years in Texas, moving there from  Ft. Wayne to be close to his daughter. 

On May 6, 1950 in Argos, Indiana he married Ellen Mae Lowry. She preceded him on March 20, 2017.

Bill was a Automotive Mechanic in charge of motor pool in the Air Force, he owned the DX Station in Argos, Indiana. He had worked as a Mechanic for Studebaker, Dalton Foundry, and Howard Sober; later he worked as a Dispatcher and Manager at Howard Sober.

He was a member at Parkwood Church of God of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was a member of Masonic Wayne Lodge, Fort Wayne, Indiana and served as a Past Master, York Rites of Freemasonry, Fort Wayne, Indiana, serving as Commander of the Knights Templar, and Fort Wayne Valley of the Scottish Rite, American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana

Bill was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1946

Bill served his country in the United States Army Air Corp, later the United States Air Force in the 2463 Supply and Maintenance Squadron; 2463 Air Base Group. On June 17, 1949 Staff Sargent William T. Schauer received his Honorable Discharge.

 

Bill is survived by his Daughter – Beverley (Schauer) Norris and husband David of Jonestown, Texas

Grand Daughters – Christine Simpson and husband Daniel of Cedar Park, Texas; Denise Stiglich and husband Matthew of Cedar Park, Texas

4 Great Granddaughters – Elizabeth, Rebecca, Adalia, and Lydia

Sister-in-Law – Anita Kay Snell of Fort Wayne, Indiana

Many nieces and nephews

 

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Brother - Arthur Schauer; Sister Violet Kristle

 

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday May 1, 2019 from 2 pm -3 pm at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, Indiana; a 3 pm and Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home.

Graveside Services will then follow on Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 3:45 p.m. at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Juniper Rd., Argos, Indiana with Pastor James Keckler of Parkwood Church of God, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana with military rites preformed by the United States Air Force Honor Guard and James Lowell Corey American Legion Post #68, Argos, Indiana.
